About ArtWalk Downtown Billings
ArtWalk Downtown Billings began in 1994 when a group of visionary folks created a recurring event to highlight the ever-growing community of artists and art galleries in downtown Billings. ArtWalk begins its Abbreviated 27th Season in August 2021. Events will be held on the first Fridays of August, October and December 2021 and are scheduled between 5 and 9 p.m.
All ArtWalk events are free. The events are organized and paid for by Season Members, One-Time Participants and generous Sponsors. Look for the ArtWalk signs as they designate ArtWalk locations. Artists frequently attend. Food and beverages are often served and live music is offered at various locations.
On-street metered parking is free in downtown after 5 p.m. There are four parking garages in downtown. Rates vary. They are seldom filled during ArtWalks.
In addition to the many fine arts and fine crafts offered for sale, ArtWalk often includes opportunities to make art, family activities, gallery talks, dance, live street theatre and interactive events. Hosts include galleries, art studios, businesses, a downtown Billings church, non-profit entities, professional offices and other locations that value the creative spirit that thrives in downtown Billings.
ArtWalk is “weather-resistant.” We don’t cancel our events for rain, thunder or hailstorms in the summer. Nor do we cancel if there are blizzards and below zero temperatures in the winter.
