Western Heritage Center, 2822 Montana Ave, is excited to display their latest exhibit opening, “Montana’s Black Gold, Underground Coal Mining Communities, 1880-1950,” which includes an incredible set of historic photos of mining communities in the area, including some from familiar events like Red Lodge’s Festival of Nations, in which thousands of area residents participated. A number of fascinating mining artifacts and implements are on display, as well. We also encourage guests to stop by and see the Larry Mayer Retrospective exhibit of photojournalism and aerial photography, a true Montana treasure.
